How we work

Your client will never know we exist.

We join your team as its development department: on a single project, or whenever you need more production capacity. You keep the client, the relationship and the margin.

The end client stays yours. Always.

We never contact your clients, we never appear in the emails, and our name is not in the footer of the sites we build. If you prefer, they will not even know the work left your agency.

We sign an NDA before we even look at the project, whenever you need one.

What you get, every time.

Not just the site online: everything you need to keep it in your hands afterwards.

  • 01

    White label work

No branding of ours, no direct contact with your client, no signature in the code.

  • 02

    The code is yours

Repository, credentials and documentation are handed over on delivery. No lock-in, no ransom.

  • 03

    A backoffice the client uses

Fields where they are actually needed, not thirty options nobody will ever open.

  • 04

    Custom WordPress

No page builder: a theme built on the design, reusable components, code the next developer can read.

  • 05

    We work inside your tools

Your Slack, your board, your repository. Where your team works, we work too.

  • 06

    What we measure, we state

Page weight, accessibility, performance: verifiable numbers, not adjectives.

From brief to launch.

Five steps, always the same ones: you know where we are without having to ask.

  1. The brief

You tell us what the site must do, how many pages, which integrations and by when. A few lines are enough.

  2. The assessment

Within one working day we answer with a technical assessment and a proposed way of working. We do not send generic quotes.

  3. Development

We start from your approved design file. We work in visible milestones, on a staging address you can show your client.

  4. Delivery

Launch, repository and credentials to you, and documentation of what was built and how it is updated.

  5. After

New features, maintenance and managed hosting if you want them. If your team keeps the site instead, that is fine too.

Who is behind it.

Manuel Mancini

Founder and developer

Understack is a team of developers: we write clean code, and it is the only thing we do. Alongside the in-house team there is a remote team we coordinate ourselves, and that is how we absorb an agency's workload peaks without stretching the schedule.

The person who answers your email is the person who follows the project: no account manager in between, no handover between the people who sell and the people who build.

Understack is enrolled in the Automattic for Agencies program.

What agencies ask before starting.

  1. Who talks to the end client?
You do. We talk to you or to your project manager. If you prefer to bring us into a technical call we will join, under your name or without ours: your call.
  2. What if I do not have the design?
We make it, in Figma, with the same structure we then build it with. It still goes through your approval, and your client’s, before a single line of code is written.
  3. Who owns the code you write?
You do, from delivery onwards. No licences of ours, no closed parts, no dependencies only we can update.
  4. Do you sign an NDA?
Yes, and we sign it before looking at the project. We have a template ready, or we use yours.
  5. How fast do you answer?
Within one working day, with a technical assessment. If a project is not right for us we say so immediately instead of wasting your week.
  6. How much does it cost?
Starting prices are public: a custom site starts at 2,000 euro, an e-commerce at 5,000, a dedicated developer at 2,500 a month. The exact quote comes after the brief.
